WEatched a man anoint his boat with Poli Glow yesterday. Sure looked good at first glance and a whole lot easier than waxing and buffing. Has anyone tried this stuff? Does it match its claims? yes I've used a similar product called Nu-glass. As long as you have a chemically clean surface and take your time applying the material as directed it does a fantastic job. Like another poster said, the hull looks wet all the time. Our first try with this stuff lasted 4 seasons before the south side of the boat started to weather. Removing it is relatively easy. Avoid ammonia. It's supposed to work but we didn't have much success with it. Just make sure your stripper is oxalic acid based. Wipe it on, and the acrylic just sloughs off. Use a power washer and it goes even faster. Careful with the oxalic acid though. Apparently it permeates the cell membranes of the skin, and doesn't play well with your internal organs. |
