Poli Glow
WEatched a man anoint his boat with Poli Glow yesterday. Sure looked
good at first glance and a whole lot easier than waxing and buffing. Has anyone tried this stuff? Does it match its claims? |

It is likely that the problems are with how long it lasts and how difficult it is to remove before you reapply. But no, I don't have any experience with it although we've used Penetrol and before that we used a similar product -name escapes me at the moment. grandma Rosalie |

Does it match its claims? I've been using it with good success for a few years. Many folks on the Catalina 30 list use it also and are almost uniformly happy with the results. I've heard a few complaints about the difficulty in removing it but that has not been true in my experience. I had to remove the Poliglow on the port and starboard quarter to have lettering put on the boat and it was not difficult to remove using the Poliglow remover. --Alan Gomes |

Does it match its claims? yes I've used a similar product called Nu-glass. As long as you have a chemically clean surface and take your time applying the material as directed it does a fantastic job. Like another poster said, the hull looks wet all the time. Our first try with this stuff lasted 4 seasons before the south side of the boat started to weather. Removing it is relatively easy. Avoid ammonia. It's supposed to work but we didn't have much success with it. Just make sure your stripper is oxalic acid based. Wipe it on, and the acrylic just sloughs off. Use a power washer and it goes even faster. Careful with the oxalic acid though. Apparently it permeates the cell membranes of the skin, and doesn't play well with your internal organs. |

Poli Glow
The only complaint I've heard (from anyone that's actually used Poly Glow,
plenty of bs from others) was a guy that only put on a couple of coats and didn't use the prep. I did the prep and 5 coats in an afternoon on my GS 41. A neighbor in the boat yard waxed and buffed his boat, took 2 days and still didn't look anywhere near as good as Poly Glow. That was 3 years ago. Love the stuff. MMC "Gogarty" wrote in message ...
