This logic is what has prompted my question. Perhaps if the bolts are drawn
up tight, there will be good electrical contact, and the grease prevents
corrosion that could insulate the connection ??

Dielectric means "non-conductive" If you put dielectric grease on a zinc,

won't protect anything. Zincs MUST have direct metal to metal contact to
