Default Honda or Kipor (was) 500 W gensets

Brian,
As I stated before, the current QC in China is not very good, but those
boys scare the hell out of me. I went to the Chinese Industrial Fair in
Canton last year. It is run by the state, not publicly financed. It is
policed by the Army, not contracted security folks and EVERYBODY is having
to attend ISO 9000 classes. The problem we associate with Chinese gear is
at least 50% the problem of the quick buck reseller that has no intent of
follow-on customer service. The equipment is EXCELLENT for the price and
spares ARE available in China. If you find a reseller that is serious
about service, it is hard to go wrong. You can buy two for the price of
one from the competition. Now, here's the scary bit, they are making money
at those prices. They are not dumping!
Steve

Somewhere I recently read that China is entering the automobile design and
manufacturing business.
It will be interesting to witness how meeting export emission and myriad
safety standard regulations are met. My limited experience with doing
business in China is that they are focused on exporting products to generate
revenue rather than servicing a huge internal market.
