Default Canadian charts - electronic

Hi,

Just bought some charts off ebay for Newfoundland.

I went to ebay and searched for "chart newfoundland" and found this
fellow who sold me disks for $25. Also included Sea Clear, which is a
free download in any case, but is convenient to have in one place.

Just passing it on.

It would give me a warmer feeling if these charts could be validated before
using them. The notices to Mariner should be checked against the charts.
Older charts can be usable if you know where you stand with them. Either
way before going on a trip Its a good thing to verify all the notices and to
re-enforce them with the local knowledge. Going to Newfoundland by
sailboat requires plotting the locations and movement of icebergs.

Would not give me a warm fuzzy feeling at all. A few years ago there was a
P2P network that ended up with a bunch of random charts on it with the
geo-referencing files altered to give a wrong position. The site no longer
exists.
