Heh. Unless Venice has dredged, their ICW channel is from hunger - or,
more
likely, starvation!, putting it charitably. We went aground a half dozen
times trying to follow directions (in the ICW!) to get to the yacht club.

You don't need to go on the ICW if you are just pulling in off the
Gulf of Mexico for the night. There is a large marina on the right as
you go in (Crow's Nest Marina).

That's the one where we eventually wound up tying up, and eating dinner,
too. And, for that matter, out in front of which we became hard aground IN
THE CHANNEL :{/)

NTL, if we had to, we'd go in, there.

Default Taxes and registrations (was) Marathon FL local knowledge sought

There are two contacts who will have the answer about any tax issues WRT
boats:

, , Jimmy Kalfas, the
"resolution" guy, and Charles Martin, the "enforcement" guy (Jimmy used to
have his job).

Drop them a line; they're unfailingly helpful and courteous...

Thanks.
I believe I have the right info now.
I did contact the FL yesterday, and sfter the first guy looked it up and
came back with 20 days maximum ( not including time in a repair facility), I
called back again and this time was told what Rosalie has reported. If it is
an out of state boat, you only need to register if the boat remains longer
than 90 days. And to register means only that, something like $80 state fee,
and possibly a similar local fee. No sales tax.
