Line tracer codes
Has anyone found a good source for identifying cordage from the tracer
colors? I have acquired a number of high tech single and double braid 100' to 150' remnants that are not labeled. I think most are NER and Samson but I can't find a good ID chart.. -- Glenn Ashmore I'm building a 45' cutter in strip/composite. For a cruising boat, does it really matter (unless you're trying to distinguish nylon from polyester)? Evan Gatehouse |

There are often different splicing regimes and techniques for various synthetics, even when they are all in general intended for, for example, running rigging applications. -- Good luck and good sailing. s/v Kerry Deare of Barnegat http://home.comcast.net/~kerrydeare |
