Yes, always hated that when we lived up north. Now our only problem
is keeping the boat away from the hurricanes, and timing our trip

You are right about the historically good signal to noise ratio in
this group which is why I dislike seeing a bunch of newbie posts
advocating dubious solutions to traditional issues. I'm sort of
expecting to next see a post about someone who has used recycled
chewing gum for bedding compound. Most of this stuff really belongs
in "rec.boats.building" where they are used to debating and debunking
the use of inferior materials.
