I stand corrected if your Congress has passed a new law about this! There is no law, merely etiquette, protocol and practice. Saw a photo recently of a squadron of US Navy vessels, very one of which was flying the national ensign from a different point. If they can't get it right, what can the rest of us do? If the naval vessel was under way then the ensign would be flown from the peak of the gaff on the most aft mast. In port they are displayed on the stern and the jack flown on the bow. Leanne |
