So the sons helped me buy a sail boat.
I painted the trailer, repaired a tire, baled out.
Tried buying a mast from Denver but then the student earmarked to
carry it back - couldn't, and the price of gas (600 miles) went
through the roof. So its on to plan B

Anybody want a 19 ft 4 inch aluminum mast very very cheap - collect
Denver?

Today, though, it was time to test the new class 3 tow bar with a trip
to the local lake - just 20 miles to Quartz Mountain.

They've pulled the plug out of the lake (reservoir really) on behalf
of the score or so farmers who make their living from irrigated
cotton, but still I could wade in to the axle of the half ton and
check the hull for leaks.
It's dry, it will launch - and it will recover up the ramp.

That's step one, at least.

Happy days!
