Default Mast refurb

It's time to put the mast and boom on saw-horses.
Any suggestions as how to handle some mild surface corrosion?
Should I just clean it with SOS pads, and let it go at that?
Any other tips?
Thanks,
Norm B

An Aluminum mast? Maybe figger out why you have corrosion. If its in
proximity to stainless fittings, they make a product for that, I forget
what its called, anybody know?
If its corrosion all by itself thats weird.

The product is Tuff-Gel out of Boca Raton FL search Web but really look
up the mag. "Good Old Boat" great articals for guys like us with older
boats. There is an artical on mast refinishing that is excdellent.
Remember now would be the time to replace all the internal wiring!!!

Yep, replacing the wiring and coax is on the agenda.
I'm lucky..there's a PVC conduit already in place.

I believe you mean TEF-GEL.

It's a teflon based dielectric compound designed to electrically isolate
differing metals to inhibit galvanic corrosion.
