I've got a year 2000 2460 Regal and the head bubbles after
I pump flush it and that really wouldn't bother me much but
I get the feeling it's coming the gray tank and causing it
to smell. Only liquid wastes in our tank, pumped out twice
at the end of the weekend and a bottle of the purple stuff
added, used the next weekend and then pumped out again, so
I don't think the head should smell. I flush dry, then
water flush, then dry flush it again.

What is causing the bubbling? The vent on the gray tank
appears to work fine. When I do a rinse on it, I know its
full when it pours out the vent. It doesn't pump hard. I
don't think it bubbled when I first got it.

I expect the joker valve on the output side is leaking slightly, allowing
the liquid stored in the "up" side of the siphon-break loop to leak back
into the tank. Not a problem if a) you pump lots of extra clean water and
b) you don't have a rough enough ride to splash out.

Probably a new joker valve will fix it: under $10

Thanks for the advice on replacing the joker valve on the output
side of the head, Everett. I'll see if I can't find a diagram telling
me where that is.

The Joker, or duck bill valve (because of it's it's disposition and
appearance) is located at the bottom of the pump barrel. Suggest you
pump out and rinse with water and pump out again before
dissassembling it.

Most are packaged with diagrams and directions. USE THE RIGHT SIZE!
Someone replaced mine before I got the boat, with the wrong size.
It worked sort of for a season, and I got disgusted and replaced
it with one that worked SO much better.
