![]() It appears that all but one of these many acts of piracy was committed by Muslims. Once upon a time the USA had the common sense, the will and the sense of self preservation to punish pirates, viz the Barbary Pirates who were severely curtailed by the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marines in the early 1800s. (Hence "The Shores of Tripoli" in the Marine anthem) It is worth noting that the Barbary Pirates were also Muslims Today we could not possibly do so because it would be soooo politically incorrect to persecute any member of this "great" religion. Why, the ACLU would have the government in court faster than a personal injury lawyer at a plane crash site and the "New York Times" would come out with banner attack headlines. The rest of the American main-stream media would follow in lock-step. Flame away, liberal assholes! wrote in message oups.com... Hmmm... the natives have been restless! Brian Whatcott Altus, OK Let' see, Brian Whatcott of Altus, Oklahoma, 99% of the reported piracy is committed by Muslims. Every last one of the individuals who hijacked our planes and killed our people on 9-11 were Muslims. They (Muslims) are allowed to operate schools in our country where their students are indoctrinated with hatred for our culture (well, what's left of it). They (the Muslims) are involved in genocide in Africa. They (the Muslims) are bombing Christian Christian churches in several countries. They (the Muslims) are persecuting every other religion, viz. Hinduism, Bahai-la, Buddhism. They are determined to destory every single being on this earth who does not accept their religion of blood and vengeance. I point this out in response to a posting someone else made and I am "a cowardly little anonymous poster, hiding behind . . . lacy skirts." Just what kind of nut are you, Brian Whatcott of Altus, Oklahoma. Joe |

Joe Joe, You say, "They (Muslims) are allowed to operate schools in our country where their students are indoctrinated with hatred for our culture (well, what's left of it)." These are citizens of our Country; they are part of our culture. They are part of our culture, just like all the Swiss, Norwegian, Irish, Morroccian, Spanish, Jamician, Hawaiian, Thai, Chinese, Indian, and Nigerian (To name only a few.) people who have come here and are now citizens. The United States has such a rich heritage because we have a truly world-wide heritage. Joe, Are their others, maybe Joe's church, that hate and speak hatred about fellow citizens? Do you do this, yourself? Illegal acts of piracy on the high seas do not make everyone from that country or religion bad. |

Joe,
The fact they are Muslims is irrelevant. It doesn't matter what their culture is. They're Pirates, that's all that relevant, and should be dealt with on that basis, and no this isn't a flame, just a difference of opinion. Joe, The fact they are Muslims is irrelevant...... Maybe. After kicking their butts we offered a peace treaty but their rulers refused saying that their religion forbade them signing peace treaties with Christian nations. President Jefferson then assured them that the USA was a secular nation NOT a Christian nation. Satisfied, they signed the treaty and quit attacking American shipping altho they continued to attack Christian ships. |

From present media and policy, Jefferson would be hard pressed to prove the
same today. "Vito" wrote in message ... "Paul Schilter" ""paulschilter\"@comcast dot net" wrote Joe, The fact they are Muslims is irrelevant...... Maybe.
