It appears that all but one of these many acts of piracy was committed
by Muslims.

Once upon a time the USA had the common sense, the will and the sense
of self preservation to punish pirates, viz the Barbary Pirates who
were severely curtailed by the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marines in the
early 1800s. (Hence "The Shores of Tripoli" in the Marine anthem) It
is worth noting that the Barbary Pirates were also Muslims

Today we could not possibly do so because it would be soooo
politically incorrect to persecute any member of this "great"
religion. Why, the ACLU would have the government in court faster
than a personal injury lawyer at a plane crash site and the "New York
Times" would come out with banner attack headlines. The rest of the
American main-stream media would follow in lock-step.
