Default Seeking Jacksonville, FL marina info

Im considering movimg my boat from TX to Jacksonville in the spring.
Can anyone provide recommendations on marinas there?
I'd prefer one with floating docks and finger piers, as well as a yard that
can do a bottom job. Also, what is the tide range there?
Thanks, Jay

I have my boat at the Ortega River Boat Yard. It's a couple miles west of
Jaxville on the St John's River. I moved it from Annapolis in October,
hoping to spend more time sailing this past winter. The wind has been
marginal in the St John's River whenever I've gone out. It's more typical
to motor over to Jacksonville Landing, tie-up, and party all night instead.
I'm looking forward to getting it back to the Chesapeake in early April.

I made my original arrangements w/ORBY in September. Before I arrived, it
was bought out by a management company from Michigan. They have some grand
plans to turn it into a delux yachting mecca during the next year but nobody
expects that to happen. It's a homey place, in need of TLC, but I found the
people to be friendly, the weather good, and a lot of facilities close by.
I'm having some canvas work done from a guy right off the dock. There is a
mechanic and maintenance facility on the property but I haven't used them
for anything.
Next time I may try St Augustine instead.

About a half hour drive from Jax is a town in Georgia called St. Marys.

Langs Marina in St. Mary's Georgia is a lovely spot. Reasonable prices
and well cared for marina. Plus the town itself is really quite charming.

But it's a lot further away by boat.

Closer is Fernandina Beach, which has a great anchorage and a pretty
good city marina... hard to get a spot there, the snowbirds circle like
vultures every morning waiting to pounce on any opening.

Langs Marina is a well cared for marina? I doubt that even the Langs
would claim that. The one were the sailboat are is a 300 - 400 yard
walk from the parking area.

Spoke with Lang's today. They said marina was heavily damaged by the
hurricane and they are just beginning to re-build. It will be a few months
I think before they will be able to take boats.

Check out my website,
www.st-johns-river.com
Good marinas on the Ortega as others commented and on opposite shore are the
Julington Creek marinas (Julington Creek Marina and Mandarin Holiday)

I don't want to sound rude but you need to provide more info. The St. Johns
interesects with the ICW in Jacksonville. S of the ICW are several marinas,
public and private and E & W on the St. Johns are many more. Duval County
and Jacksonville are synomous and encompass a huge area. There are no
marinas that I recall, N of the St. Johns on the ICW. Tidal ranges are about
3' normally not everywhere so this isn't a fair answer.
