To give you some idea of my obsession with experimenting and why my
home built boats will NEVER have re-sale value. When I built the MiniCups, I got bored with epoxy thickener and experimented. Hmmm, this is FL where we have roaches, bad termites, etc, OK, I'll use Sevin (pesticide) dust to thicken the epoxy. It worked ok but I felt bad about it. Tried cornstarch and it worked very well, really creamy. Regular flour didnt work too well. Corn meal did. Cement dust worked. Experimented with many ways of making 6 mil poly sails including duct tape, carpet tape, 3M 5200, contact cement, GOOP, and lots of others. Finally found that my wifes clothes iron on HIGH will controllably melt the seams together. Lots of other craziness, but fun. |

Je If you and I ever went sailing together, God help the cruising community. The oceans would be populated by Frankenboats like a sorta nautical Nite of the Living Dead. |
