What do you call a major city? Are you looking to fly in from Down Under?
Then it would be Dallas/Fort Worth, about 90 miles south.
If you need to find anything in the area I might not be able to help, but I
can try, I'm about 100 miles north (Oklahoma City).

Thank you all for responding to my request!
I agree that major was a bit ambiguous but not knowing the area i felt
that it would be accepted that it would mean a town/city that is a
location in its own right not a satellite suburb that has expanded.
Most cites to me have Airports and 500k+ populations
In Australia for instance we have Perth city of i believe 1.4 million pop'
then within the environs of perth is other satellite cites I.E.
Rockingham pop aprox 35k no airport no harbor (tis on the coast) about
50 miles South sou west of perth.
The reason i ask is i am looking at some boats in the US and one spot
that seems to show up is this lake Texoma but the online maps that i
have found don't show it' yet it must be of a fair size to warrant all
these boats.
Our Swan river would be but a creek to many of you folks.
Once again thank you all
