Can someone tell me the names of rivers and lakes in the
Nashville area? Does anyone know if it's legal to live on a houseboat in any bodies of water within about 30 miles of Nashville? If so, which marinas are good for liveaboards? |

The river going through Nashville is the Cumberland. The lakes are Old
Hickory and Percy Priest. Old Hickory is part of the Cumberland River impoundments but and is accessible by a lock on the river. Percy Priest is not. The lakes in this area are governed by the Army Corps of Engineers, and their rules discourage liveaboard. There is a marina called Rock Harbor on the Cumberland about 13 miles downstream from Nashville that seems to allow liveaboard, however. I live in the area, so if you'd like more info, please ask. Pls e-mail by dropping the "nospam". Rick |
