Hi All...
I have a '76 Century, Raven 180, and when I put it in the water for the first time this year, the speedometer failed to move. It usually starts to wiggle at about 10-15 knots. Sunday it didn't move at 25 knots per the GPS. I checked to see that the speed probe was down, and it was. Yesterday, with the boat up on the trailer, I squirted some air into the speed probe, but still didn't see any needle movement. Is it just a tube that carries pressure to the speedometer? And is there a way to test the speedometer out of the water? Can a bug climb up the hose a little way and plug it??? Any ideas will be most appreciated. Rich..... |
