Default Airguide speedometers

Hi All,

The restoration of my 1960 Owens 16 foot proceeds apace. I have
installed new frames and stringers, a new floor and and have just
applied two coats of primer/undercoat to the upperworks. I am now
looking for authentic instruments, although I do have the original
Airguide speedometer.

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of these instruments. If
I blow into the air inlet on the back I can just about get it to
register 5mph, but I think the mechanism may be sticking. Is it
possible to open up the seedometer to service the parts inside. Any
information would be gratefully received.

Graham

Try blowing some compressed air into the intake. If the gauge continues to
read 5 mph there are OEM replacement gauges for sale on the internet,
including Ebay: http://motors.search.ebay.com/airguide
