Hi, Wilbur,

So far, nobody in North Eleuthera, or Harbour Island (which we visited
today), knows a Leslie/yoga instructor.

How long ago was it you last saw or spoke to her?

I have one dance instructor lead I'm following up from HI, but after that
I'm out of ideas...

"Believe me, my young friend, there is *nothing*-absolutely nothing-half so
much worth doing as simply messing, messing-about-in-boats; messing about in
boats-or *with* boats.

In or out of 'em, it doesn't matter. Nothing seems really to matter, that's
the charm of it.

Whether you get away, or whether you don't; whether you arrive at your
destination or whether you reach somewhere else, or whether you never get
anywhere at all, you're always busy, and you never do anything in
particular; and when you've done it there's always something else to do, and
you can do it if you like, but you'd much better not."

Oh, it's been a month or so since I've seen her. She lives full-time in the
Keys and goes to spend a week-end or a week from time to time on Eleuthera
in the house they own there. Her husband and her are wealthy and she just
retired a year or so ago. Was a corporate lawyer for TGI Fridays in Texas.
Now that I think of it more, she may have mentioned the Governors Harbor
area. Have to ask again next time I see her. For some reason, though, in my
mind sticks north Eleuthera. Are there any settlements on the main part of
the island west of Harbor Island? She has to be in that area as that's
where they caught the BFB and where they shot out her boat's motor that he
stole after staying in her house for a short time.

Did you have any trouble going between the reef and Eleuthera and into the
relative shallows west of Harbour Island?

Hi, Wilbur,

We took the ferry. It zigged and zagged prodigiously (albeit on a faster
track than we'd have done), came within a stone's throw of the beach not
long after leaving Spanish Wells, displayed the bottom VERY clearly quite
often, and otherwise, with it's 3' draft (as measured on the markers on the
side of the bow, up to, maybe, 2meters when very fully loaded), convinced
us, even assuming the suction effect of high speed over shallow water,
albeit probably less in a cat, that we'd made the right decision.

Some of these course alterations were 10s of degrees in a few hundred feet.
The waypoint plotting, assuming there was enough water for us, would have
been intense.

If you read the most recent log you'll see that we spoke with several folks
in the area you describe, as well as the caretakers/local reps for the Sands
Beer owner, who have been there forever. Just by coincidence, Loretta
pulled up to the dock at the same time we did this morning; she knows
EVERYBODY both there and in SW, as demonstrated by all the folks who greeted
her in the short time we were together before boarding.

As the local distributors of Sands, they get to meet an awful lot of people
on Eleuthera...

However, knowing that she's married to a retired attorney should narrow the
field, especially from Texas/TGIF as another "hook"...

As to settlements, of course. It's opposite the road to the airport, and
there's the "little ferry" dock at the end of that road. As to BFB, why
would Leslie have kept her boat in HI, where the boat he stole was taken,
only to have gone aground in front of her house?

We're headed to Hatchet tomorrow. What's up with your reticence on my
looking for all the places we shouldn't miss in Eleuthera?

LMK where she hangs out, and I'll be sure to say hi. Be sure to tell her
not to be anywhere near me on the water, dangerous slob that I am :{))
