"Believe me, my young friend, there is *nothing*-absolutely nothing-half so
much worth doing as simply messing, messing-about-in-boats; messing about in
boats-or *with* boats.

In or out of 'em, it doesn't matter. Nothing seems really to matter, that's
the charm of it.

Whether you get away, or whether you don't; whether you arrive at your
destination or whether you reach somewhere else, or whether you never get
anywhere at all, you're always busy, and you never do anything in
particular; and when you've done it there's always something else to do, and
you can do it if you like, but you'd much better not."

Here's a few:

1. Harbour Island, town and beach

2. Glass Window (from the water, west side)

3. Preacher's Cave (accessible by dinghy in calm weather from Harbour
Island or Spanish Wells)

4. Gregory Town (classic little Bahamian village on the water)

5. Alice Town (good protection in cove, very cool inlet)

6. Goverour's Harbour (good town, good WiFi)

7. Surfer beaches on east side (need a 4WD jeep for access)

8. Rock Sound (good protection, good supplies, car rental)

Here's some pictures:

The original "Glass Window" by Homer is in Brookland's museum of art.

Looks like a must see spot.

It can be very spectacular when it's rough and windy on the ocean
side.

So, Wilbur, it's all been said? I'd have thought there were more places and
stuff to see and do.

Meanwhile, yesterday, the glass window bridge was closed because there was
18-24" of water in the road. We didn't get down there; instead walked to
Preacher's Cave from the tip right off Spanish Wells (big hike!), and will
go see the devil today, right at the very tip of the NW corner, courtesy of
the guy who owns Sands Beer, who owns that peninsula.

Great dinner afterwards at the Snack Bar. You can see our travels on the
spot page mentioned here before :{)) Because of the way it was carried
(ideal is flat, we had it vertical in the backpack), updates weren't every
10 minutes, but our extremes were accurate...
