Default 1987 Celebrity 210 Cuddy

Hi all,
I am considering a 1987 Celebrity 210 Cuddy. It comes with a Mercruiser
5.7L Sterndrive.
I learned my 100HP Johnson O/B through a painful and costly process. (Works
perfect now!)
Any pointers from you gurus? I know nothing about Stern drives.

Before buying it:
drain a little oil or all of it from the outdrive.
Check for signs of water.
Milky? Water droplets?

if not,
Replace with fresh as needed.
Go for a wet trip.

Drain a little oil, or all of it.
Check closely for signs of water
Milky to droplets?
Trouble.

Then, if not,
Remove the outdrive and check the universals.
Rusty?
If not, grease em up.

Replace the impeller.
If unsure about water penetration, replace
all o rings and gaskets.

Leaving water in the clockwork for any length of time is very very bad
news.
