Oh, the poor, poor people of Cuba. Perhaps they should take a lesson from
Castro and revolt.

That might be the intent...squeeze from the inside.

If there was an open border, a free exchange, there would be less
pressure internally, and the entire Castro Revolution would most
likely lead to another problem for the US...."What do we say to the
kids?"

Yeah, remember they tried that one time and were given the high hard one by
CIA. The Shiite tried it too. So did the Kurds. And we let them all down.
Ease travel to all US citizens and Fidel and co will be sitting in the
corner wondering what hit them. The only reasons for the continued embargo
is strong lobbying by FL Cubans, the voting block, and the complete lack of
interest on the part of the rest of the US.

When you sit down and compare the past 50 years, Coca-Cola, Levi's and
Rock and Roll have been more effective at bringing down totalitarian
regimes than blockades and embargoes. The embargo gives Castro a
scapegoat. Interaction breeds decent and gives the decenters courage to
act. US culture is the most dangerous weapon on the planet.

US culture? hmm.... . Yeah I guess it is kind of dangerous. Almost an
oxymoron.
