Sheila Bair engineered the intended takeover of Wachovia by Citibank

peanuts plus government assistance. A week later, before contracts

the
Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the agency that regulates

companies that sell tobacco products over the internet from access to
the
banking system, and generally to do good deeds for consumers. She
would
be
better advised to have her examiners focusing on their banks' assets.

Seriously though... we know the right-wing agenda... obstructionism, refusal
to face the facts, distortion, etc. So, there's no point in getting to
worked up about it. The right is going looney over having lost big time in
the last election. They can't get over Obama's cool and calm demeaner. If
Dave decides to follow that approach, e.g., distorting facts about a couple
of people (and aren't they hold-overs?.. never checked), it's no big deal,
and it will be obvious at some point.

Sheila Bair - She was appointed to the post for a five-year term on June 26,
2006.

Julie Williams - She became Acting Comptroller on October 14, 2004.

Both Bush-era employees....

I liked Sea Hunt, Flipper, and anything else that had boats in it. But my
favorite was Diver Dan. Loved the gangster fish that had a ciggie hanging
out of his mouth. Did Diver Dan get his boot stuck in a giant clam in nearly
every episode, or is it just that it made such an impression on my toddler
brain?

Yep. Permanent beltway fixtures don't much care which party won the
election
as long as it doesn't throw them out of work.


I don't believe that they could be classified as permanent... I seem to
recall Williams from a 60 Minutes show? She seemed pretty good.
