It's one of the few center-cockpit boats that doesn't sail like a dump
truck. People I know that have them really like them, a couple are
racing sailors (although they don't race that boat) who would not
tolerate a kludgy boat.

"And then again, when you sit at the helm of your little ship on a clear
night, and gaze at the countless stars overhead, and realize that you are
quite alone on a wide, wide sea, it is apt to occur to you that in the
general scheme of things you are merely an insignificant speck on the
surface of the ocean; and are not nearly so important or as self-sufficient
as you thought you were. Which is an exceedingly wholesome thought, and one
that may effect a permanent change in your deportment that will be greatly
appreciated by your friends."- James S. Pitkin

You are probably thinking of the excellent owner's website:

kp44.org

Lots of great info there. There is also an associated mailing list,
info on that is at the website.

The boat might be the best blue water cruiser over 40 feet for the
money.

Looking at the code verifies Firefox's findings:

Just a screwed up something or other. Nothing malicious.
With IE you are asked whether you want to download a file named kp44.
I did and looked inside. Code and text about the Kelly Peterson.
Stuff like this pasted below.
Needs to be fixed.

I have been looking at the kp44 site for many years and this is the
first time I have had problems like this. I'll alert the site
administrator to get it fixed.

Problem with the web site kp44.org has been fixed.

The site administrator says it was an "Apache configuration error."
