Default Ugrib wind program

Ugrib wind program

I've had a HD crash; I used to use this program, and don't have the
original download.

I tried to go back to them but I somehow don't recall whatever the
user name I had was, and it won't let me register because my email is
already in their database.

Would any of you who have the original download mind sending me the
download so I can start over? Please, drop me a line first in case
there's multiple responders!!

Thanks.

Please let me know if you figure out how to get around it. I have
the same problem and they don't reply to emails.

Okay, what I did is delete the old program and started over using an
alternate email (such as
) and new user name and password.
Worked fine.

It's not a viewer (only) - it's a getter...

It makes for much smaller files as you only get what you need. You
determine the size of the area you're interested in.

That is precisely how a Sailmail grib subscription works - you specify
the lat/lon boundaries for the area you are interested in. There is
another mode using just Viewfax where you request the grib data in
real time and get it instantly. This is what my resent Sailmail
subscription request looks like:

TO:

SUBJECT: Subscribe

TEXT:
Subscribe
grib:18N,38N,086W,070W|1,1|12,24,36,48,60,72,96,12 0|WIND,PRMSL,RAIN,SFCTMP

If I were on the boat using a radio connection to receive the gribs, I
would trim down the lat/lon window to reduce message size. The
request mechanism and formats are explained he

http://www.saildocs.com/gribinfo

I believe these requests must originate via Airmail or Sailmail.
Airmail requires a valid ham license but has an internet winsock as an
alternative to SSB radio communications. That is what I use here at
home since it is considerably faster than a radio connection and more
convenient.

Subscriptions are valid for 14 days and are renewable with another
EMAIL request.
