Default Small Boat HDTV - $149 at bestbuy

Best Buy put up a display rack a couple of days ago with a Dynex 7" ATSC-
NTSC (digital/analog) HDTV and I didn't make it past the damned rack the
third time. For the first time since 1991, I now own a television!

The unit is:

1210377520598

It really has a beautiful little picture on it on the digital TV channels
but works better hooked to my Philips preamp panel UHF antenna, which plugs
into the standard F cable TV connector into the side of it.

The 12V cord that comes with it will NOT charge its Lithium-Ion battery
pack, so I pulled out a 9V 12V-to-9V regulator power cord from my box full
of them and now I can charge it either off AC or DC.

ATSC digital TV in the USA really sucks because it will NOT stay sync'd
(work) while the receiver is moving over about 3-4 mph. But, once
stationary, it works amazingly well.

Well, it's the first day so I can't tell you more. $150 is a bargain if
you've been looking at monsters to watch. Oh, the tiny remote control is
perfect for your V-berth...(c;

I'm sure you can find it cheaper on the net....but not enough to make up
the difference.

Larry, 480i is not HDTV, though I'm sure that at 7" it looks pretty crisp.

Cheers

That's not an HDTV set, though it des receive digital signals. It has
the same number of pixels across as a soon to be obsolete analog tv, and
only half as many vertical pixels (that's how it achieves 16:9 ratio).
True HDTV transmits in either of two flavors: 1920x1050 or 1280x768. And
picture quality wise it's pretty poor at only a 250:1 contrast ratio.

This time last year for only $100 more I bought a Best Buy branded LG,
"Insignia" 19" HDTV. Far better quality, many more features, uses
minimal power running off a cigarette pack sized inverter.

Take it back and get a real HDTV. You won't be sorry.
