Default Headliner Backing material

I'd consider floor under layment in a size just under 1/4". It is basically
cheap mahogany plywood and holds up well. I have had good luck building
boats with it. It is about $9 - $10 for a 4' X 8' sheet. Being wood it
will take adhesives ok.
