I built a pedestal wheel and telescoping tiller arm from plumbing
scraps, a dead electric motor rotor and steel cable that cost me about 50 bucks alltogether, including the steering deck that sat over the rudder head. It worked good, about 3 1/2 turns lock to lock for + - 45 degrees rudder deflection, plenty. An Edson kit for my HR28 would have gone 3K minimum. Terry K |
