clsoed cell/open cell foam
I would like to add some additional flotation to a new ( to me ) boat that I
purchased. Does anyone know if any of the brands of canister foam ( Great Stuff or Dow etc. ) are closed cell and could I use them safely without concern that they will take on water over the years. Or, for that matter, could I just use blocks of Styrofoam? The application is "outdoors" ( on the permanent step/trim tab) on the boat. I'm just trying to give her more flotation at rest. Thanks, RichG |

Here is a link to Eager plastics they make many types of foam and two
part foam mixes just for this pupose, and they were exteamly helpful to me a novice when it came to this kind of thing and they will sell sizes very small to very large. http://www.eagerplastics.com/ "RG" wrote in message ... Thanks for the reference to Eager, but considering that the area I want to
cover is less than two cubic feet...one of the spray or even a block polystyrene would suffice, if they aren't going to absorb the heck out of water right away. I've filed away the Eager reference for future use, though. thanks RichG |
