Over here in Australia, you can get an extruded PVC version of it, that bends around compound curves really nicely, and with properly spaced fastenings, is very strong. I've used both - the extruded PVC does go around curves nicely, but a really strong wind or wave can pop out a bolt rope because the extrusion isn't strong as the aluminum.
