Bolt rope track for dodger?
 

Anyone know of a source for some "C-track"? I need to decide on what I
am going to use to hold the front edge of the dodger and also the bimini
to the traveler arch. The usuall Lift-the-Dot snaps are not as
waterproof or as strong as a bolt rope track but I have not been able to
find any.

I found it. I need to remember to think lubber rather than nautical. A
sailmaker's bolt rope is an awning maker's Welt. :-)

I guess its just the biggest market users win on names we all get
called. The sacred rule of volume.

I'm a sailmaker, and we call it caravan annex track! Over here in
Australia, you can get an extruded PVC version of it, that bends around
compound curves really nicely, and with properly spaced fastenings, is
very strong.

Bolt rope track for dodger?
 

I suppose I used the PVC track.... it was white plastic. After scoring it w/
sandpaper, I was able to bond it w/ epoxy.

It's PVC or Alum and isn't really all that expensive, about 2 bucks or so
a
foot.. The welting is also available from them..

I've used both - the extruded PVC does go around curves nicely, but a really
strong wind or wave can pop out a bolt rope because the extrusion isn't
strong as the aluminum. If you go with aluminum, find out the alloy; should
be 6000 series.
