I just pulled the first panel I built off a formica mold table.
The laminate is a triaxial E glass and the surface has lots of little pockmarks. In a few areas that were resin rich, the finish is nice and glossy as I was anticipating, but mostly it was not what I was hoping. I'm thinking of a few choices: - making the bottom laminate more resin rich (I'm testing this on another panel today) - OR adding a light surfacing veil Any further suggestions to improve the ? The top surface (peel ply) layer was as expected, slightly rough but more of the weave filled in. Evan Gatehouse |
