Oh, I do.

Isn't that a bitch?

Indeed, and it's been noted by the reviews. AM tried to move the
engine further back but still missed on achieving the right balance.
The car also uses a dated and very simple suspension, which is why so
many cars beat it in real world driving. One review was kind saying
that the car was at least "honest" in it's handling as it never broke
loose at the limits without warning. Still, it did break loose and the
car got high points for comfort. The nose heavy issue makes for some
numb handling compared to cars like an Evo or BMW M3. An M3 is yet
another car that simply TOASTS the DB9. It's hard to stay focused on
class when a car designer has failed on so many levels. A car is sooo
much more than it's stitching and sheet metal. One day you may learn
that...but I doubt it.

What a laughable car the DB9 is, but cars of this type survive by
generating a lot of false impressions and intangible comments like
"class & soul." At it's price point the DB9 is a shame as a
enthusiasts car. If you need to turn heads and drink gas, then by all
means buy one.

It's just a car Donal...If you need a car to get class, You have none!

He needs it badly. Did you see how he wants HIS car in the front of
the casino? That's a pretty sad comment. In the states we call
enthusiast cars like the Evo "Q cars" which means they are sports cars
that draw less attention and have a better chance of (literally)
flying under the radar. They are cars for drivers, not sad sacks like
Donal who need to be defined by parking spots!

Good lord!

BTW, Donal...I'm reconsidering the MR version. I still have about a
week to decide. I'm also shifting away from gray and back to red or
silver. We may also pick up a new Outlander SUV as Suzanne wants
something new for around-town shopping and taking Thomas to the parks
& boat.
The nav system in the Evo (and outlander) plays DVDs, but goes black
if you exceed 5 MPH. A patch is available online to make it so you can
watch DVD's while driving...not a great idea, but there if you want
it.

There are comments in the press about its handling.
These comments only apply when driving at the limits,
on the track.
For normal driving it handles much, much better
than an ordinary car. As long as you don't push
the throttle more than half way down, it behaves
like a pusseycat.... an incredibly sleek pusseycat,
that roars like a lion every now and then!

Never mind. Stupid question. Bobsprit just posted about his expensive
scopes.

No.

He just posted about his mass produced cheap Celestron.

He knows as much about telescopes as you know about
boats.

What a pair of thicko's!

Actually, if you look at the Top Gear review, the cars handling is
pretty much unremarkable. It has gobs of power, though the car is
utterly sloth like in spite of it's power. The car uses a simple wish
bone setup that is simply not sophisticated enough for such a car,
even a rear wheel one. It is a comfortable and quick highway cruiser,
but it is nowhere near the performance levels of many other enthusiast
cars. One might argue that it wasn't designed to be, but that would
totally unhinge your point...which has thus far only made it clear
that you don't drive a sports car.
The Evo X handles better and is designed for tuners. The AM is a rich
girl's toy.

Cheers,

R.

Aston Martins are horrendously expensive in Oz.....

Of course. But, they are worth every penny.
Quality doesn't come cheap.
Power, Beauty, Soul ......

You left off Reliability.....Understandably

I don't regard $300,000 + tax and on roads as being value for money

Other cars are just plain ugly by comparison.

Oh they are beautiful....

If you drive a Lambo, Bently or a Porsche you will be treated
like a football player.

Oh wonderful.....?

If you drive an Evo, then you will probably
be treated like a football player's wife.

Actually you'll hardly be noticed....

You get treated with respect when you drive an Aston.
You would like it.

Nope sorry....no deal.

Could I persuade you to just run your hand arcross the rear end
of a DB9?

You have a beautiful wife. Why don't you compare her rear to
the rear of a DB9?
Then, you should ask her for her opinion..... You will be
surprised at her answer. She won't be insulted that I compared
her rear with a DB9. She will give you permission to buy one.

You have extremely good taste in women, and your wife expects
you to have good taste in cars.

I have...and driven a DBS drophead....very nice, but too expensive

My wifes rear is as tight as the DB9's

She loves her MX5....and oddly never liked my Dino which BTW now
resides in the UK

I was lucky....and she likes our cars and can't wait till this one is
back together and she can sit that firm butt in it

Donal when I bought my Evo, I did a quick run in then went for a quiet
cruise though a couple of forest roads that had been closed after half
a metre of fresh show.

Nothing other than a tank could have gone through that 100km of road
and certainly not at an average speed in excess of 90km/hr.

If I cruise I drive a supercharged AWD luxury sedan...when I drive, I
prefer the Evo.

Thanks, but no thanks.
