But she was the only one in her division. You think Red Cloud could beat her? DSK Maybe when I extend her to 62 ft and add another mast. Joe The Elissa could make 14 knots under some conditions. Not the fastest, but not the slowest either. Jim- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Seems like eveyone had a nice fair winds regetta with only one slack morning. Maybe next year RedCloud will race again.. How's it going Jim? You been out sailing lately? Perfect weather huh? Joe I was out sailing Wednesday, but as you may remember, we didn't have much wind. Also, apparently I will have to have the bottom cleaned. I have been working on some projects for NASA and haven't had much free time recently. - However, I still expect to owe you lunch at the Aquarium, if we ever get our race to Red Fish Island organized. Jim We will be kicking off to Ambergris Caye Belize later this mo if you would like to do it then. Not sure if it would be a fair race, as RedCloud has been gutted to carry cargo and is sitting high in the water, she gonna fly like a Cloud Jim, you won't have a chance. We will time our departure with a hopefully strong Northern front. We are flying down to Belize today to scout the harbor and roast some coffee. Here soon we will have a free coffee cupping event/press day here at the dock on the Taylor lake cut. Please come by and I'll give you a tour of the little cargo ship, and some great fresh roasted, hand sorted, sun dried, organic Caye coffee. The same coffee we will be importing via sail. What about a "bi-athelon race," in which we sailed half the time and motored the other half? - After all, both modes are of some importance in a good cruising vessel. For example, sail the first 20 minutes, motor the next 20 minutes, and so on. Jim |
