A Real Race
I have no doubt he
can sail circles around you. I have serious doubts that any of you sail enough for that to mean anything. 5 years ago I drew on the vast experience of friends who do regular crossings and race one design. I bet you heard or even know a few of them, Bart. I still learn from them, but they would certainly tell you that I can trim a boat nicely handle the helm. I'd love to see Sloco sail circles around me since no one else can. In a race around the buoys he'd probably win since I don't race and could care less. So your point means little and I truly think Sloco knows **** about boats. Like Doug, he walks around thinking he's a vast store house of sailing knowledge. But like most sailors, he has opinions about stuff he doesn't know much about. I know people who have designed sails, built boats they crossed an ocean with and make a real life of sailing. The fellow who sold me my 35s5 has sailed around the world, sailed Turner's boat during the Fastnet disaster and is now building a boat. I'll sail with him next month. It's funny how guys like that don't have time to post here. He's read these forums and found them funny as hell. With a couple of exceptions (Such as Joe who's had professional time at sea and owns a serious passage maker) you're all weekend warriors and not too good at that. Bart, get real. You've been working on that boat...a lovely Ericson I think, for how long? We had a guy come into the yard last season and he bought a pretty far gone Valliant 40. The boat needed everything, including blister work and keel damage repair. He refit that boat in half a season and sailed it home to Ireland. You've been fixing that thing for YEARS. Sloco is probably a good PHRF sailor. He's obviously impressed with himself about it. But he's also a trailer trash asswipe and I like pointing it out as often as possible! RB 35s5 NY |

"Bart" wrote in message ps.com... If you start now and race two or three days a week, you might be able to catch up to loco's experience. I have no doubt he can sail circles around you. while holding a cigarette in one hand, ;) |

I think you hit a nerve, Bart.

So not only is Sloco a tool, but he's also dumb enough to still be smoking? I see. Off for a sail. Keep posting! RB 35s5 NY |

Trumpeting that he beat up on a 27 footer with a 29 footer while claiming they were close in performance. Oh, that's right there was no starting line or pre start or upwind turn or tacking or jibing or........................ It was just a drag race between a 29 footer and a 27 footer. That's how it's done in the Matrix. 35s5................ Quick in the Matrix. |

Care less?
Yup. The only one who's filled with care about this stuff is you! Didn't this guy just post that he was in a "real race"? More real than your silly handicap races. Trumpeting that he beat up on a 27 footer with a 29 footer while claiming they were close in performance. J27's beat J29 fractionals all the time, boat for boat. I guess you've sailed neither. Oh, that's right there was no starting line or pre start Nope. We raced for FUN, plankton breath. FUN is something completely alien to you aboard a boat. You've made than more than obvious! or upwind turn or tacking or jibing or........................ It was just a drag race between a 29 footer and a 27 footer. Yea, a couple of feet of waterline always make a boat faster. Tell us all about it sloco! Now, care to explain how we got to the bridges and under stepping stone and back to our docks without tacking or gybing? Who knew drag races had so many course changes!? Sloco, you're not just an idiot. You're an enraged idiot and love it! Going sailing, lubber boy! Keep posting! RB 35s5 NY |

What a great troll, Bubbles! You've all but admitted that this "race"
was totally imaginary then contradicted yourself a dozen times or more, and here you have pulled in a couple of dozen answers from real people who really sail.... sucked them right into your fantasy world. Congrats! I very rarely read your posts, but this one was a lulu. DSK Care less? "Capt. Rob" wrote: Yup. The only one who's filled with care about this stuff is you! You mean my fantasy world where I post pics and vids of the sailing I actually do. Then I come home from sailing and find that you've also responded to my posts during the day while we sailed. I'm off now, Doug. I have to meet crew by 1:30 while you help your wife do some shoe shopping. I'll post pics/vids tomorrow. We may sleep aboard tonight, or come home tonight for BBQ and sleep aboard tomorrow. Too bad you're missing the joys of owning a sailboat, Doug! RB 35s5 NY |
