Katy, you gotta keep in mind that these guys are really angry. It just
spills over to women, and since they don't have any in their lives, they
have to take it out on someone.

Wooden boats aren't tuned like glass boats. If you
tighten
all those puppies up they will push the mast into the
keel
and start some impressive leaking. Been there done
that...

Haggie, these were very loose. How would you recommend
they be adjusted? I'd welcome your opinion.

Very loose is fine as long as the sticks are straight. Of
course it depends on your deffinition of "very":) Mind you,
I wouldn't take an old wooden boat out in extreme weather.

The stick looks straight. I think it is probably fine.
I'm just not as knowledgeable as you about wooden
boats. I appreciate learning something new. Thank
you very much. And that is worth a point too!

Aside from the fact that wooden boats leak more
than other types, are quieter, and require more
varnish. Is there anything else that I should know
about them?

Having had one ( a 19' day sailor) I would never have another...we spent
more time on maintenance and repair than we did on sailing...eventually
found another person trapped by the vapours of wooden boat ownership
that carted it away....saved us from having to burn it...

So, ganze, where did you get your credentials to do psycho-analysis in
use-net?
You keep diagnosing people who post here as "angry". Are you really
qualified to do this?
Did your shrink tell you this, over and over, so that you think that
everyone else is angry?
You think that "angry" is all that there is that makes people give opinions
about you and your cronies?
Any time someone disagrees with you, you come back stating that *they* have
the problem. Did you ever consider that maybe, just maybe, it might be
*YOU* with a problem or two? Oh, I fergot. You and katy are perfect.

Betcha he doesn't have a Perkins sitting in the middle of

If he did I bet he'd be tarting it up too.

What colour lipstick would you recommend?
...... and where should I apply it?
