of SOUNDINGS (Sept.) has a rather well-written article on boatbuilding which
covers the various core materials in lay terms that can be easily understood
by non-engineers. Thought you two might be interested . . .

OK, when we get mail again I will look for that article.

Relatively few people build their own boats out of foam core. Repairs
seem like a more useful focus for such an article; also assessing the
condition of foam-core structures.

The article is generally aimed at explaining the ins and outs of the
commercial boatbuilding industry, not homebuilders.
