"The CS 36 made its debut at the 1978 dockside boatshow in Toronto. In quick succession, it was trucked to the Norwalk Show and then onto the Annapolis Show. Within a month 60 boats were sold - over 14 months production at one per week. Ted Peak, CS Yacht's European dealer, bought four on first sight and later sold several more through his network in Holland, Germany and the U.K. Ted Hood saw the boat at the Norwalk Show and wanted to handle the boat at his Marblehead, Mass. dealership. But as CS insisted that Hood also stock the CS 27, which Hood considered unattractive, no deal was struck. " Gee, I never tire of reading it!!!! By the way, the 35s5 was a HUGE design sucess and sold more than 430 hulls! Her interior was featured in MOMA's quarterly and she was on the cover of several European magazines. It won Boat of the Year! North Sails reported that a 35s5 won the Quadrsole (sp?) race two years ago. Ahhh....well, we love her and so has everyone else that sails her! I believe the CS 27 was featured on a magazine cover...Famous Monsters! RB 35s5 NY |
