conservatory?

My ex-girlfriend held a private trio in her home just two weeks ago,
Doug. But I don't view someone's interest in classic music as anything
that requires live performances. I have friends that prefer great
historical recordings for example...and for very gooid reason. Like
me, they invest is remarkable systems to hear that music daily. That
speaks more about musical passion than just going to dinner and a
show. Just about everyone I know likes that and has enough casual
interest in classical works to enjoy it. Pony up, boy!

Well, let's see....not in a while. When my father retired we pretty
much stopped going to anything behind the scenes. But I've seen stuff
that few others have, such as 31 privately owned Picaso drawings that
have never been on display or loan. I've seen the Copper Man. I am
currently talking with my dealer friend about possibly buying a
Lautrec drawing in the near future. I almost went through with such a
purchase a few years ago. Now I'm considering it again.

None of the last three books I read were "classic", but they we Man
in the High Tower, Reclaiming History and Get a Life by William
Shatner.

Your attitute about it is pathetically limited. Of course it takes far
more investment in time and mental faculty to understand a film like
Pan's Labynth or The Draughtman's Contract that trailer trash is
willing to invest. But just stare at a painting for 3 minutes and
you're oh-so-sophistcated. Interesting that most modern great artists
don't feel as you do about film.I suppose that's because many were
involved with it on various levels.

But not on YOUR boat, Doug. You just don't get that she removed your
balls and pocketed them. She is why you don't have that C&C you showed
her. She is why you turn a key and power off like a anyone towing an
airstream. You'll NEVER live it down.

Yup. I've been getting steady training in sail construction as well.
Next week I'll be getting a new genoa for Heart of Gold made from a
new material. I'll be one of 9 boats flying such a sail and I'll be
paying zero for it. I'll be posting info and pics in another thread
about it. I'm on the inside now, Doug. I have professional
relationships and friendly ones in the sailing world. I look out and
see many types of sailors out there. Most are really sweet nice people
who have a sense of humor about themselves and their lifestyles. But
every now and again we run into your sort. You're a customer so we
treat you well, but we all know what you are...and who you are. I'm
way over your head now, Doug. It doesn't make me a better sailor, but
you can bet your ass anyone who knows me would prefer me for company
on their boat and listen more closely to what I have to say. In other
words...enjoy your trawler, Doug. I mean that.

I didn't sail today because I felt the Dutchman system on the 43 needs
to be cut off and I didn't want my rigger to go aloft due to wind and
wake action. Sailing tomorrow and Sunday and perhaps doing a long
weekend after that. I've taken one 3 cruise on a Grand Banks 42. After
that I decides that it's not really cruising. Cruising is for
sailboats. I'm glad that it's fun for you, but as you might notice the
rest of us have SAILboats, Doug. Our wives cared.
And that's the way it is.

He has studiously avoided demonstrating his mechanical expertise by
telling
us about what he did to that old A4.

Dave, I never failed to give info on the A4, and I've done it more
than once. The A4 had water in it and we pulled the head and freed up
the valves. I pulled a carb from another A4 which was in better shape
and then got the motor running off the boat. Probably the toughest
part was getting the motor back in correct alignment.
As for the other questions...what's the point? I could look up
anything I don't know and I never professed to be an expert, only a
fan. I rarely bother with such questions as folks like Bob Crantz and
Doug are google-maniacs anyway.
I know cheap trailer trash and Doug fits that to a tee. His
explanation of why he doesn't watch films is all I need to hear.
Scotty, if possible, is an even lower form of life.
Gotta run now. I'm making some safety lines in my shop for a short
trip we're doing with Thomas in July for a raft-up in Port Jeff.

Nope. I maintain that Doug and Scotty are trailer trash and anyone who
avoids the cinema arts is a moron. Doug doesn't want to sit and be
entertained, as he claimed. I assume he stands at concerts. My guess
is that sitting cuts off the blood supply to his brain....directly.

Happened to mine, water muffler filled with scale over the years and
caused the volume to decrease. When shutting down the engine, there
needs to be enough room in the muffler to take the water that is over
center in the anti siphon loop. if not drains back the wrong way
seeping into the rear cylinder through the exhaust valve. took us a
long time to figure this out, it is not something that you would
normally consider as a cause.

had to replace mine, after cleaning it a dozen or so times, found out
that the metal in the carb bowl was corroding and gumming up the main
jet. no amount of cleaning would give more than temporary relief.

found out you can buy that carb at any industrial supply house for a
lot less than a marine source.
