... "Capt. JG" wrote in message ... "Scotty" wrote in message ... Congrats. why? SV "Capt. JG" wrote in message ... It's official. I now hold a masters ticket... lots of work to get it, but well worth it. http://www.sailnow.com/gifs/USCG_50GTs.jpg -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com Why was it worth it? What I meant was, how are you going to use it. The same way graduating from hs, college, masters program.. and I'll probably actually use it. I wouldn't know about any of those. SBV I "know." I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it. I'm currently teaching at several organizations, so it isn't needed for that. I think I'm going to teach more advanced classes, offshore, and most places prefer Masters tickets to OUPV. I'm also thinking about getting some more seatime on a couple of the inspected vessels (sailing) in the area. And, I was thinking about some minor ferry work. Most require 100 ton licenses but there are a few that will take 50 ton licenses. -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com |

You are a worth addition to the ranks of Captains. The more sharp Captains like you, the better. There is a fellow with Asperger's at the club who wants his ticket. No one sails with him more than once, I find it frightening that there is no good way to screen out the dangerous oddballs. http://www.udel.edu/bkirby/asperger/aswhatisit.html |
