![]() "Capt. Rob" wrote in message ps.com... It turns out that the Mazdaspeed6 has a serious issue....a turbo seals problem. Too many cars are effected and I could not get any assurance from the dealer that Mazda had fixed it. That, and a few other worries nixed the Speed6 for us. Too bad you didn't nix that Sedona. But you're learning! So now....we still wanted a fast and fun AWD car that had some room/ comfort and good speed. We decided to up the budget and go for the Subaru Legacy GT Spec. B. A bit faster than the Speed6, but looser handling (I'll fix that with some suspension tweaks). Tested it today and far better appointed of course and way quicker than the Audi A6 (which is also nice). How does it stack up to the B9 from outer space? Is it safer? Anyway...got the manual tranny and the cold air intake....should have it on Friday. We spent more, but it's a nicer car with few peers near it's price. Friday is two days away. Still time to change the story a few times. Meanwhile....told Suzanne I want the Lotus for next spring. She says Go for it! Great! Are you going to keep the Segway? Oh....sailing tomorrow and Thursday. Cheers! What, no mountain biking? RB 35s5 NY Good for you Robbie! |

26K miles on the Sedona and outside of the oil changes, it's not needed a single thing except fuel. Best experience I've had with a van yet. How does it stack up to the B9 from outer space? Is it safer? No sedan will match the large van (with ladder frame construction beneath) for safety, but you could argue that it's less likely to get into an accident since it's AWD and a far better handling car. I'll post pics. I didn't answer this yesterday as we went for a rather cold sail yesterday. RB 35s5 NY |

One could also argue that if the driver is an idiot it is more likely to get into an accident. Or, arguably since it is a "fun" car, it will be driven in a style that will make it more susceptible to accident. Higher speed requires longer stopping distances. I'll post pics. yet. And the only experience! Nope. We had the Honda (2004) for 6 months and we also got to use a 2005 Sienna on loan when Suzanne's grandfather became too old to drive it. My father also had several Caravans and the nice Mazda MVP. The ONLY van not to have issues out of all of them (so far) is the Kia. My buddy has a new Rav4 and Seinna. The Rav4 is great, but the Seinna keeps having electrical problems. It's way dated now. One could also argue that if the driver is an idiot it is more likely to get into an accident. Or, arguably since it is a "fun" car, it will be driven in a style that will make it more susceptible to accident. Higher speed requires longer stopping distances. You could argue that, but it doesn't apply to me. I have had no accidents in 14 years. At least you were sailing. How many minutes did you go for? We were tuning the top of the mast, which took about an hour. Then we cracked off for a couple of hours, but headed back when it got pretty cold. Suzanne went home and I stayed aboard to set up the laptop and a few other things, including the RAM mic for the radio. I slept aboard. We'll sail again tomorrow and Saturday/Monday. RB 35s5 NY |

Was it better than sleeping ashore?
Hell no. Sleeping on a boat in the 25-60 foot range is fine once in a while, but I prefer a real bed. Wow! have fun...amazing life you have RB. Yip. At 44 I have a lovely wife and child, a nice house on stunning property with streams and ponds, more lakeside property, fast cars, a great dedicated home theatre, money...oh and a fast and fun boat. Of course...this is the absolute highlight...a joy you lacked the courage to obtain.... http://youtube.com/watch?v=o6XGCD1KCA0 Have fun on your houseboat, Joe. I'm off to the stream with my son.
