Default Bulb replacement

I am replacement the incadescent bulbs on my boat with ones that are
more green in their energy usage. I have found that the compact
flourescents cause too much radio and gps noise and aren't that
efficient, so I am looking at replacing everything with LED lighting.
A weekday crewmember recommended going to oil lamps for the interior.
They do give a nautical "air" but how environmentally sound are they?
Thank you,

Milton

They stink....your cabin will reek even if you use scented oil...we have
a collection of both new and antique oil lamps of all different types
including railroad lamps, an Alladin, and various types of hurricane
lamps...they all smoke to some extent and they all have an after
smell...we used them only when we had power outoages and I cannot
imagine using them in the boat...you'd also have to have a hatch open
for ventilation...

Duh...read the post again...I said at home...and they stink...but then,
you wouldn't notice that since you breathe diesel fumes all day so it
probably smells quite pleasant to you...
