They can be, but will they be? Handgun Control, Inc., the
preeminent gun control advocate organization in this country, has a
mission statement that clearly states its desire to see the
elimination of ALL guns, not just handguns. If its goals are ever
achieved, there will be no quarter given to collectors and hunters.
This is far and away the primary reason for the NRA's legislative
activities.
