Yes Bill, but murders like VT are not usually carried out by
terrorists per say but by usually normal people who have lost it. With Cho Seung-Hui's history he should have not been allowed easy access to a pistol. I absolutely agree with you. But this is not a usual case. I do not think that people with his history should be allowed to own a gun and if there is some way that reporting people like that could be made easier so that he would get listed on the no sale list then I think it should be so. There are a lot of reasons why you could denied when you are checked, this should be one of them. I think crazy should definitely be on the list of reasons why someone should not own a gun. |

Woooo scary. Buy more guns now. Hey maybe your on to somehting here. Legal gun sales provide tax and fee revenue to the agencies that regulate gun sales and provide checks so the more guns legal law abiding citizens buy the more money there will be to enforce laws that prevent using guns to kill people and the more money will be available to fight illegal gun sales and useage. I am totally agreeing with you r plan here. Good to see you coming over to our side. |

In other words, although the group changed their name and direction some years ago to be more consistent with the will of the people, you feel justified in lying about their position. The game is politics, Max. Groups and parties that want to make a real change take positions that appeal to a large number of people. Nowadays, the majority of this country wants consistent gun laws that prevent kids from driving down to SC and coming back with a trunk full of guns. The Brady Center has adopted the position the law abiding citizens should be able to have handguns and hunting weapons, while criminals and kids should not have easy access to assault weapons. The obvious problem that the NRA has this position is that the majority of the country can easily get behind it. Therefore, they have to convince their dupes that the Brady Center has a hidden agenda that hearkens back to their earlier incarnation. I see that some people are buying that. |

I always will remember, 'Twas a year ago November, I went out to hunt some deer On a mornin' bright and clear. I went and shot the maximum the game laws would allow, Two game wardens, seven hunters, and a cow. I was in no mood to trifle, I took down my trusty rifle And went out to stalk my prey. What a haul I made that day. I tied them to my fender, and I drove them home somehow, Two game wardens, seven hunters, and a cow. The law was very firm, it Took away my permit, The worst punishment I ever endured. It turned out there was a reason, Cows were out of season, And one of the hunters wasn't insured. People ask me how I do it, And I say, "There's nothin' to it, You just stand there lookin' cute, And when something moves, you shoot!" And there's ten stuffed heads in my trophy room right now, Two game wardens, seven hunters, and a pure-bred Guernsey cow. The Hunting Song, Tom Lehrer |
