hey Joe, BB saw it onTV, you can't argue with that.
Scotty "Joe" wrote in message ups.com... So, I've been on a Higgins PT Boat here in Clearlake. And I hear Higgins sea stories all the time. When first assigned to a ship in the Navy, in boats division, my first boat was a rotting plywood & Oak Higgins LCM. http://www.usssamuelgompers.org/Phot...08/Gil%20Swear engen/Gompers.jpg See it? It's abeam of the forward 300 ton crane, just aft the 100 ton traveler and motor whale boat, in front of the 42ft liberty, in front of the 72ft LCMVP. Thats before we got the new LMCVP's with the AC wheelhouses. We had another LCVP aft , and another LCM, LCVP, LCMVP, Liberty, and diver's boat, Captains Gig, and Admiral's barge on the Stbd side. I went to Amphibious Coxswain School and all they had were Higgens boats. I ran various Higgins, Elco's ect for 4 years. But you watched a TV show, so now your an expert on Higgins slang. That Harvard pompass ass side of you shines bright BB. Joe |
