Just after Christmas we were at anchor in Tenacatita bay, commonly
known as "The Aquarium" because of all the great rocks to the west of the bay where the fish flourish. The Mexican locals love to vacation on this stretch of beach and it was a treat to intermingle with them and watch them play on the playa. What they (the locals) didn't know was that about a hundred pelicans had figured out that this year the aquarium was bursting with life under the water. We spent days sitting under the palapas watching the families playing in the water fighting off the pelicans who were trying to catch their dinner. The pelicans were dive bombing into the water everywhere, inches away from people who were just trying to cool off. We heard a lot of screams and men trying to drive them off but the pelicans never hurt anyone and never went away. What a show.
