For years I was with the same marina slip and paid by the foot for the length of my boat. Now I'm at a new marina and they want me to pay by the foot for the length of the slip. Which one is the more common charge? Is it the same all over the country? Thanks, Milton Most of the marinas I've dealt with charge by the foot, but expect a minimum for each given slip. In other words, the "nominal" slip size or the length of the boat, whichever is greater. Since my previous boat was a "wide body" and my current boat a catamaran, I'm used to paying a premium over the length. On top of this, a lot of marinas have taken to carefully measuring the boats, so that the bow rollers and davits can turn a 35 foot boat into a 38. |
