This crazy Canook is say ing a Canadian sniper in Afghanistan has been confirmed as hitting an en emy soldier at a range of 2,310 meters, the longest recorded and co nfi rmed sniper shot in history. The previous record of 2,250 meters was se t by US Marine sniper Carlos Hathcock in Vietnam in 1967. Keep dreaming Canaduh, you will never out shoot Americans. Right on Joe, everone in the world knows that Americans are bette r at anything you care to name than anyone else in the world, anybody who disagrees should be shot/bombed/tortured/jailed...... Sailor killed in brawl laid to rest By The Associated Press WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Hundreds of people attended a funeral Saturday for an American sailor who was murdered in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the man's family said. Petty Officer 1st Class Damon Crooks was stabbed to death Nov. 4 during an early-morning brawl on a trendy street in downtown Halifax. He was there as part of training exercises with the Canadian navy. About 400 people, including 100 uniformed military personnel, attended the funeral in West Palm Beach. The service featured a 21-gun salute and an a cappella version of "I'll Fly Away" - one of Crooks's favorite songs. Speakers remembered the young sailor as a brave "good Samaritan" who tried to help a fellow shipmate. Police have said Crooks was trying to break up a fight when he was stabbed. "They said so much about Damon," said Crooks's fiancée, Schyla Washington, who is eight months pregnant. "Everyone was crying. It was beautiful." About 30 American war veterans on motorcycles flying American flags lined the funeral procession and stood guard while Crooks' casket was loaded into the hearse by six of his shipmates. "It was very touching, very sad," said Crooks' uncle, Bertram Gooden. "I think it was really becoming of Damon. If he had to go, this was the way to go. There was not a dry eye left in the place." Cory Wright, 23, of Halifax has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Crooks. Wright is due in court Tuesday for plea. Nothing to do with the Canadian military except that he was in Canada on training with them. He was apparently attempting to break up a civilian brawl and things went awry. The pilot said: Schmidt stated, in his official apology to the family and friends of the dead and injured Canadians: "My perception was that we had been ambushed, as we had been briefed that Taliban were expected to use ambush tactics in an around Kandahar...I believed that the projectiles posed a real and present danger to our flight and specifically to my flight lead...I believed at the time that my flight lead's transmission to 'check master arm, check laser arm,' indicated he concurred with my decision that the situation required self-defence. Where as the Canadian punk was a drunken murderer, I bet he stabbed Crooks in the back. Joe Drunken murdering punks are not an exclusive Canadian thing. I'm pretty sure you can find them anywhere there are punks that drink. Again I'm not sure what that has to do with the Canadian military or even Canadians in general? |
